Taqdeer - Fortune favours the brave?

June 28, 2020 in Hindi Poems

Being grateful about your existence is an art. Especially because you're being tested constantly, not by your deeds, but by the actions of others who matter. They say fortune favours the brave. But, they never teach us how one acquires that courage.

Kabhi mere taqdeer ne ghum diya,

Jaane pechaane tasveeron ne ghum diya,

Yun toh har sitam sehne ki aadat hain hume magar,

Kaaton se zyada, tere diye phoolon ne ghum diya.

However wrong, we mostly measure our self-worth through the behavioral patterns we see in others. At times people who matter to you, make you feel special. One thinks of this as a permanent pattern & expectations follow. A slight change in their situation results in an immediate shift in actions based on behaviour.

So, what happens to your expectations then? Should you be brave or should you probe and find out? Have you ever noticed how the same people who showed a level of curiosity towards you, now find you curiously plain? Before you jot names in your head, ask yourself if you have done the same thing to someone else.

You can't control who bought you flowers. But, you do have control over who you give one. Stop and think what that one gesture might mean to the one receiving. Can you be consistent? Or will situations dictate how you behave with them in the future.

Don't force them to be brave, rather find courage in your heart to measure your actions. Good ones & bad.

Stracy’s materially investigative work with different textiles, and other materials takes a lot of time, and labor. The first step involves sampling, and sketching. After that, starting with a piece consists of working “through a regimented system, a grid or a layout, as most textile structures have some form of pattern or repetition”.

Born in Sydney, George Byrne, graduated from the University of Sydney: Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Visual Arts (Sydney College of Arts). He had an affinity for photography since a young age; gradually the field became apparent as a natural focus during his studies, and as a possible profession. Moreover, its novel status as a fine arts medium was a source of excitement for him. Moving to Los Angeles—current residence—constituted a defining moment in his professional life; the city’s architecture and its landscape drove the evolution of his work and his passion for it. His subject—everyday urban space—, and vivid style refers to the New Topographics photography, and Modernist painting, respectively.
