Uljha Sa Sach | Words are never enough

June 16, 2020 in Hindi Poems

Tera uljha sa sach,

kitaab ka woh panna ho jaise,

Shabd toh samajh aate hai magar,

Unhe mehsoos karein toh kaise?

Uljha sa Sach
Shulabh Gupta - Midnight Tapes

How do I understand the truth about you? It's like a page from a book that one can read & understand, yet never truly feel what one meant.

Sometimes, it's a lot easier to explain the rationale behind something complicated through poetic expression. Saying the same thing directly is more challenging. This is one such situation. It’s better to cut to the chase & say exactly as one feels without the fear of being judged. If knowledge is power, then reading minds would be on the top of my superpower wishlist.

How often do we say exactly what’s on our minds? Why do we first need to get comfortable before we reveal our inner essence?

Taqdeer - Fortune favours the brave?
Shulabh Gupta

Being grateful about your existence is an art. Especially because you're being tested constantly, not by your deeds, but by the actions of others who matter. They say fortune favours the brave. But, they never teach us how one acquires that courage.

Bhool - To forget. To make a mistake.
Shulabh Gupta

It’s funny how one word can mean several things and yet, be close results of each other. You could make a mistake & choose to forget about it. Or a mistake becomes a pain & you can’t get it out of your mind.

Portrait of A Dreamer
Shulabh Gupta

For when the sun sets on the horizon, she’s awake and awaits. She brought her dreams along and placed them in front of her heart. The heart smiled and asked 'Why are you such a fool, oh dear one?' Taking offence her dreams unleashed its wrath of desires. You see, dreams are not used to being questioned.

Stracy’s materially investigative work with different textiles, and other materials takes a lot of time, and labor. The first step involves sampling, and sketching. After that, starting with a piece consists of working “through a regimented system, a grid or a layout, as most textile structures have some form of pattern or repetition”.

Re-discovering L.A | George Byrne, photographer talks about portraying the everyday urban spaces.
June 14, 2020

Born in Sydney, George Byrne, graduated from the University of Sydney: Bachelor of Arts, and Bachelor of Visual Arts (Sydney College of Arts). He had an affinity for photography since a young age; gradually the field became apparent as a natural focus during his studies, and as a possible profession. Moreover, its novel status as a fine arts medium was a source of excitement for him. Moving to Los Angeles—current residence—constituted a defining moment in his professional life; the city’s architecture and its landscape drove the evolution of his work and his passion for it. His subject—everyday urban space—, and vivid style refers to the New Topographics photography, and Modernist painting, respectively.
